Wednesday Getaway – Santa Barbara, California

Ava Apollo in Santa Barbara, California

I had a 3-year-long love affair with Santa Barbara and am still not over it.  The circumstances of our breakup were foreseeable, if not unavoidable, but I intend to return and put down roots one day.  One day…

I attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and had a great experience, not only falling in love with the school, but also the surrounding areas.  The natural beauty was unlike anything I had ever lived amongst before, having grown up in more of a desert-like environment.

I returned last weekend and was reminded again why I am so in love with this place.

Without further ado, here is a sampling of the best of Flickr’s Santa Barbara, California photos

Ahh! Ava, I LOVE Santa Barbara and had a love affair myself for the place. Maybe still have! Isla Vista and Goleta were amazing, and my girlfriend at the time went to school there. I dream of living there one day =)

SB is a one of my favorite places to travel to and honestly, it is the most beautiful. It really reminds me of Toscana. Very hilly and green, just majestic really. The architecture is the best part, at least for me. It’s just enjoyable to walk around and take it all in. But that entire encounter can be quite expensive. Do your research and find a good place to stay! The South Coast Inn (www.goleta-hotel.com) is always my go to whenever I travel there. Close to some good wine tasting and restaurants, its affordable and elegant.
